Ron English Accepts Louisville Offer
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Ron English accepted Louisville's offer to be its defensive coordinator, the same job he had at Michigan, where incoming coach Rich Rodriguez fired all of Lloyd Carr's assistants.Good deal...
"I called them last night and said I'd take the job," English told The Associated Press on Tuesday, the day the Wolverines beat Florida 41-35 in the Capital One Bowl. "I've appreciated my time at the University of Michigan, particularly the opportunity to work with coach Lloyd Carr, a man I love."

Petrino: Not Mr. Loyal
Atlanta Falcons' head coach Bobby Petrino announced late yesterday that he was resigning to become head coach at Arkansas. Mr. Loyal he's not.

Last November 2006, Petrino made this statement after signing a new contract with the University of Louisville:
"When (Louisville AD) Tom (Jurich) and I sat down this summer to talk about a new contract, we anticipated that there would be many high-profile job openings," Petrino said in the statement. "The University of Louisville made a tremendous commitment tome, and I made a commitment to the University of Louisville. I’m not a candidate for any job openings."

Kragthorpe Makes Changes For Next Year
via Brian Bennett, Courier-Journal:
Jeff Brohm was named offensive coordinator, replacing Charlie Stubbs. Brohm served as assistant head coach, quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator this past season. Stubbs resigned to pursue other opportunities, Kragthorpe said.
Kragthorpe also announced that defensive coordinator Mike Cassity will not be retained next season.
And as expected, the Cards will NOT go bowling this season...

Farewell
On Tuesday afternoon, when Oscar (Brian Brohm's dad) wiped a tear from his cheek as he walked off U of L's football practice field, he closed his eyes and started to contemplate something an entire stadium will contemplate tonight:
This is it. Brohm and Company's last farewell.
It was fun guys. Thanks a million...

H/T The Card Chronicle.
Padgett to miss at least ten weeks; playing career probably over.
Fortunately, the Cards played just fine without him thus far...

UofL vs USF: A MUST win for Louisville...
There's more on the line for the Cardinals than the Bulls. Though South Florida (7-3, 2-3 Big East) is fighting to improve its post-season destination, UofL (5-5, 2-3) just hopes to be playing in December. -Brian Bennett, Courier-Journal.comDate: Nov. 17, 2007

No Spitting Allowed
According to WVU quarterback Pat White Louisville linebacker Preston Smith spit in his face during last night's game.
WVU won 38-31.
Both Smith and head coach Kragthorpe are denying that it happened.
This is troublesome. As a life-long fan of everything UofL, I'm totally embarrassed and ashamed.
Why would Pat White make up something like that?
Preston, if you did spit in Mr. White's face I encourage you to be a man and admit your guilt and apologize.
